"The Purple Ribbon Sessions" is here!

The day is here for the official online release of Ann-Marita's new EP "The Purple Ribbon Sessions".

Norwegian-born, California-based singer/songwriter Ann-Marita has had some serious twists and turns in her life and career, leading her between countries and continents on a long, slow journey of self-discovery, or a long, slow world tour, if you will. Her last album release was "Intuition" in 2007, however, there has not been a hiatus. "I have been performing the entire time," Ann-Marita explains. "But...life happened. And then life happened again. I've moved from Australia to Sweden back to Los Angeles, constantly writing, playing, singing and performing, but wasn't ready to release any new music. This 5-song EP features some of the songs I was writing during this time, and it also marks my first venture as producer and also instrumentalist on a few of the tracks."

There's a whole new profundity and maturity soaking these five songs, which span from breezy West Coast country rock to twangy honky-tonk and bare, stripped-down acoustic folk. Ann-Marita serenades the healing power of the California sunshine and an emigrant ancestor, sets a small-time criminal straight, and lays her "busted heart" on display in the power ballad "Wrecking Ball" and the heart-wrenching plea "Remember Me Pretty".

The first single; "California Sun" is hitting radio in March 2014. It will be available for download from all major digital outlets including iTunes and Amazon.com, and physical copies of "The Purple Ribbon Sessions" will be available for purchase from cdbaby.com, or at any live show you can happen to catch, including the March 22nd EP release party at Butler's Coffee in Palmdale, CA.
